Nevertheless this assumption of capability does not entail that the American is evenly optimistic about his/her opposite aspects in day-after-day meetings. Many Europeans expend a more pessimistic approach towards human nature. They exhibit a greater distrust of experts, and assume that human motivations are more interwoven than do Americans. This is reverberated in a predilection for more complicated cognitive models of behavior and thus more composite structures than are found in American systems (Cooper and Cox, 1989).

Up until of late, American culture has in general perceived the human as separate from nature, and titled to exploit it. Such activities as mining, diking rivers for hydro-electric power, analysing and designing to control weather condition patterns, genetic technology, all show a need for dominance.
However newly, the world has become more aware of needs to preserve the environment, and this is mirrored in corporate merchandising policies and the growth of 'recyclable' and 'biodegradable' goodss.
More in general, basic cognitive processes of control are reflected in a willingness to deal with the psychology of humanity, and human relationships. An example is provided by policy patterned to alter an organizational culture.
In comparing, Arab culture looks to be highly fatalistic towards endeavors to change or modify the world. Mankind can do footling on its own to achieve success or avert calamity.
